Yurts first appeared on The Silk Road (the nomadic trading route in the Far East. For many centuries now, yurts have been used by nomads as warm, safe, move-able homes to live in as they grazed their camels and yaks, travelling in cold and windy climates. To Mongolians and Tibetans, a yurt is known as a 'Ger'.
In the last decade, yurts are becoming increasingly popular with people who want warm, stunning, easily relocatable dwellings, able to withstand strong weather conditions.
Our yurts are uniquely crafted and custom made locally in Tasmania by Zebulun Walker. Inspired to spread a vision of a world in which we can live more intimately with nature, Zeb is now busy building yurts for people to use as homes and venues.
